The Abbey Cat Success Stories
Below are listed some of the success stories we have received from you. Thank you to all of our adoptive families for taking time to share their stories and images of their beautiful cats.

Mister & Sister ( were The Jetsons)

Mister & Sister

Well, the Jetsons are the Jetsons no longer......They are now known as Mister and Sister. And they are the best kittens EVER!!! We have had SUCH a great time getting to know each other and playing and learning and teaching...it's so nice to have kittens around. What a couple of characters those two are--they provide hours of enjoyment and love. Thank you again for all your help in getting them. It's about that time for them to go and become "its"...Can I get the info from you for the vet that I need to take them too? I've attached a couple of pictures for you...they aren't the greatest quality and they aren't that exciting, but I thought that you would want to take a look at these little lovers and see how they are doing. Thank you again! Sincerely, Nancy

Leap

Leap

A special thanks to Abbeycats and to Marion and Heather for my beautiful Leap, adopted on April 23/08. Sweet and independent, Leap, whom I renamed GG (short for Graygirl) is crazy for her 3-part gym in the bedroom, transports all her play toys from room to room, and she loves to be rolled up in the bedsheets for a game of hide and seek. She honoured me the other day by laying her head down on my hand, and she regularly kneads on me when I'm stretched out on the bed. How lovely. She's also the queen of affectionate head butts, tummy rubs, and paw and ear massages. GG also spends much time basking on top of her antique suitcase: I should tell you, the suitcase sits on top of a 7ft. bookcase in the office. But don't worry! GG's got the path up all figured out. (I showed her the first night that I brought her home.) My heart was broken when I suddenly lost my beautiful Turkish Angora, Black Beauty on April 17/08. But I'm so glad that I chose to quickly love again. Moreover, I'm certain that my new little furry friend is really happy: I can see it in her beautiful light green eyes every time we touch, snuggle, brush, play or do nothing at all. Abbeycats --- you do GREAT work. My heartfelt thanks. Vera

Molly (was Petals)

Molly

Molly (Petals) loves to sleep with me or with my mom. She and my other cat Shadow have become the best of friends. Molly likes to help me do my work by jumping up onto the desk and checking out what I am doing. She also likes to play with the pen I am using, and when I am on the computer she loves to follow the mouse. I can tell that you Abbey Cats people have done a great job with her. You can just touch her with your pinky finger and she starts purring. She sounds like a little motor boat! Jenn

Bridgid (was Crystalline)

Bridgid

Here is the lovely Bridgid (formerly Crystalline) with her feline friends! She is just fabulous! She took to the spaying without a problem and holds her own agains the "Big Orange Guy"! Claire Marie

Missy (was Mimico)

Missy

Missy loves being in her favorite toy basket. Each morning I throw some nuts out onto the deck for the squirrels. Jazz and Missy love to sit by the window and watch the action as the squirrels like to "duke it out" for the nuts. It provides hours of amusement for them. Missy loves to go into her "stalk" mode and watch as the squirrels get closer and closer to her. Then, after all the action is finished, she climbs into the basket with her toys and has a little snooze. She doesn't venture far from Jazz at any time. In fact, the two of them are quite inseperable (albeit, this is entirely on Missy's part) and on occasion when Jazz wants to do her own thing, well then Missy just gets very vocal letting Jazz know that she is looking for her. She has no problem communicating her needs by her chirps, howls and other cute noises that she makes. And she does make a lot of them, in fact, she is quite the chatty little cat! She is so funny with her vocal expressions. The whole family gets a kick out of her.

The picture was taken in the afternoon when the two of them like to take their naps (if you look close enough you will see a bit of Missy's pink belly as this picture was taken shortly after her spay). I usually find Missy and Jazz together on the bed or in this case on the loveseat in the bedroom. Missy is almost always curled up with Jazz in someway. One time my husband saw Jazz on the bed thinking she was alone only to find Missy's paw around Jazz's shoulder. He said it was the funniest sight, Missy was behind Jazz, although her body couldn't be seen, she looked like she had her arm around Jazz's shoulder (probably to make sure Jazz wasn't going anywhere without her). Another time when they were sleeping together.....and I don't know how she did this......but Missy crawled under Jazz's legs and fell asleep. You will almost always see Missy snuggling up with Jazz in some way. Even when they are not sleeping.....Missy will run along side Jazz chirping and curling her tail around Jazz in some way, or she will give Jazz head butts and rub her head under Jazz's chin purring and wanting Jazz to lick her head. I sometimes think that Jazz is a surrogate mother to Missy. Although it is taking a little longer for Missy to come around to us "humans", we are making progress. She lets us pat her.....but still, she fears us getting too close to her. She is not quite trusting yet. I think she is afraid that we may take her away from Jazz, so she keeps her distance with us. Example, she needs to be close to a piece of furniture that she can run under when we pat her. This way she feels safe. It is certainly improving though.....every day a little more progress is made, but I must say....it has been worth the journey!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the pics and the update! I still need to get the spay certificate to you.......I was hoping my husband could scan it and send it via email. Will see if this is "do"able......(I need him to do this as I am not computer friendly) if not, will send it in the mail.
